Job Title: Project Engineer

Job Description

The Project Engineer oversees construction and facilities projects within a manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on environmental, health, and safety compliance. This role manages on-site construction, HVAC, boiler, and other heating and cooling projects, while providing technical support to manufacturing and maintenance teams. The Project Engineer maintains and upgrades the facility through general maintenance and new construction, manages service contracts, and ensures all work aligns with corporate EHS policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Support and promote the organization’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) values, policy statement, and principles in all project activities.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate, and regulatory EHS regulations at all times.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment while performing job duties.
  • Report all job-related illnesses and injuries in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Report all safety, health, and environmental concerns to the appropriate supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend and actively participate in all required EHS training sessions.
  • Develop and manage all on-site construction-related projects within the facility.
  • Develop and manage all on-site HVAC projects, ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably.
  • Develop and manage all on-site boiler, heating, and cooling projects to support facility operations.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing and maintenance teams related to facilities and equipment.
  • Maintain and upgrade the facility through general maintenance activities and new construction initiatives.
  • Manage service contracts for heating and cooling equipment and general building requirements, including HVAC, refrigeration, and boilers.
  • Handle monthly, quarterly, and yearly service contracts and maintain accurate service records.
  • Oversee maintenance and repairs of dust collectors to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Coordinate services on cooling tower and boiler chemicals to maintain proper treatment and performance.
  • Manage maintenance and repairs of cooling towers to support reliable cooling operations.
  • Manage quarterly maintenance and repairs of loading docks and overhead doors to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
  • Manage maintenance, service, and repairs of HVAC systems, chillers, and other heating and cooling equipment.
  • Manage maintenance, service, and inspections of boilers to ensure compliance and safe operation.
  • Oversee installation, maintenance, and repairs of fencing and gates throughout the facility.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute CAPEX projects associated with construction, HVAC, boilers, and related facility equipment.
  • Develop and manage additional service contracts as needed to support facilities equipment and operations.
  • Recommend and implement spare parts inventory strategies to support new and existing equipment.
  • Manage purchase orders, invoices, and capital budgets related to facilities projects and service contracts.
  • Investigate and recommend equipment upgrades and area improvements to enhance safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Recommend preventative maintenance procedures and appropriate frequencies to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Continuously maintain and upgrade the facility to support safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in construction management for on-site facility projects.
  • Hands-on experience managing HVAC systems, including chillers and general heating and cooling equipment.
  • Knowledge of boiler systems, including maintenance, service, and inspections.
  • Experience managing CAPEX projects related to construction and facility equipment.
  • Ability to manage service contracts for heating, cooling, refrigeration, and general building requirements.
  • Technical aptitude to provide support for manufacturing and maintenance teams.
  • Familiarity with maintenance and repair of dust collectors and cooling towers.
