Entry-Level Staff Accountant
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who is eager to learn, take ownership, and gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of accounting.
The Staff Accountant will support Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), purchase orders (POs), reconciliations, sales tax, and month-end close. We are also looking for someone who is comfortable leveraging AI and technology to improve efficiency and streamline accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
  • Process vendor invoices, payments, and employee expenses.
  • Prepare customer invoices and assist with collections and cash application.
  • Create, track, and reconcile purchase orders (POs).
  • Assist with bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare basic journal entries and supporting documentation.
  • Assist the Finance team with month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Help maintain accurate general ledger records and research discrepancies.
  • Assist with sales tax compliance and reporting using Avalara.
  • Maintain organized documentation for audits and financial reviews.
  • Work with internal departments to resolve billing, invoice, and PO questions.
  • Leverage AI tools and automation to improve accounting processes, reporting, reconciliations, and overall efficiency.
  • Assist with ad hoc Finance and Accounting projects as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including AP, AR, and general ledger accounting.
  • Strong Excel skills and willingness to learn new financial systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working with technology and utilizing AI tools to increase productivity and improve processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
