Job description

Join our dynamic manufacturing team in an entry level position operating/programing our Haas CNC. You will play a vital role in producing high-precision components and assemblies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced machining equipment and techniques, ensuring that products meet strict quality standards. As a CNC programmer/operator, you'll utilize your mechanical expertise and attention to detail to operate manual and CNC machinery, interpret technical drawings, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about craftsmanship and precision, this role is perfect for you!

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to produce parts according to detailed specifications.
  • Set up and calibrate CNC machines including CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring optimal performance with Fanuc controls.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and CAD models to accurately produce components.
  • Program CNC equipment using CAM software; troubleshoot programming issues to maintain production flow.
  • Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and dial indicators to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspections, and quality checks for traceability.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery; replace tooling as needed to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams on tooling design, assembly processes, and process improvements.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other fabrication tools for assembly or modifications when necessary.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and optimizing workflows.
  • Assist with plastics injection molding setups or repairs if required; operate forklifts for material handling within the shop floor.

Experience

  • Min. of 1 year of CNC operation & programing experience AND;
  • Must possess demonstrated analytical capability; ability to work independently; excellent written and oral communication; ability to use machining equipment and hand tools; and blueprint reading, proficient computer skills, specifically in Microsoft office applications, Excel intermediate experience a plus.
  • Machining: 1 year (Required)
  • CNC milling machine: 1 year (Required)
  • Manual Lathe: 1 year (Preferred)
