Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program

Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program Job Description

Duration: 10-18 months

Application Deadline: Rolling Admissions

Program Start: Flexible Spring, summer, fall, and winter start dates

Prerequisites

All residents must have successfully completed a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited professional physical therapy curriculum or have had a state physical therapy board approve the applicant's first post-professional physical therapy program as "equivalent" to a US CAPTE accredited physical therapy program.

Applicants currently enrolled in a CAPTE accredited, entry-level program may apply for a position which begins after their graduation date.

All applicants must provide evidence of a current and valid license in good standing to practice physical therapy in the United States per respective state guidelines.

Applicants who are already licensed in another state may apply and begin residency in accordance with the licensing body's rules and regulations of any state that they complete program hours.

Physical Therapy students may apply prior to taking the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) but will be conditionally approved (probationary status) until successfully passing the exam.

Lumbopelvic Region

Lower Extremity

Cervical and Thoracic

Upper Extremity

Incorporate evidence-informed practice with ongoing mentorship, education, and hands on skill development to advance clinical decision-making and psychomotor skills to develop you as a leader and specialist in orthopedic physical therapy

Independent clinical practice, weekly in-person 1-on-1 mentorship with a Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist (OCS), self-guided learning, in-person didactic intensives, and virtual clinical rounds
