Job description

The Assembly Technician I is responsible for assembling aerospace and defense products following defined procedures and instructions. This entry-level role involves completing repetitive tasks in conjunction with a team to culminate in a finished product on an assembly line. The technician ensures the quality and accuracy of assembled components and adheres to safety and compliance standards.
The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.
Responsibilities:
  • Assemble components and subassemblies according to detailed instructions and blueprints.
  • Perform repetitive tasks on an assembly line to achieve production targets.
  • Inspect and test completed products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Document production activities and report any discrepancies.
  • Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
  • Assist in the maintenance and calibration of assembly tools and equipment.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 0-1 years' experience as an assembly technician or in a related field.
  • A general understanding of manufacturing, production, or warehouse environments.
  • Ability to comprehend/follow detailed instructions.
  • Basic understanding of assembly techniques and tools.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Certification in basic soldering or electronics assembly.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform assembly tasks, including the ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Operate and maintain assembly tools and equipment, requiring hand/finger dexterity.
  • Stand for extended periods during the work shift.
  • Work in potentially hazardous or loud environments, following safety protocols.
  • Ability to travel may be required.
  • For office roles, capability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
