SUMMARY: The Entry-Level Sheet Metal Duct Fabricator supports the fabrication and assembly of HVAC ductwork and related sheet metal components in a shop environment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in sheet metal or HVAC fabrication and offers hands-on training under experienced fabricators and supervisors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assist with the fabrication of square, round, and specialty HVAC ductwork
- Measure, cut, bend, form, and assemble sheet metal components under supervision
- Learn to read and interpret shop drawings, fabrication tickets, and work orders
- Operate basic hand tools and fabrication equipment after proper training
- Seal, label, and prepare ductwork for shipment or installation
- Perform basic quality checks to ensure accuracy and workmanship
TEAMWORK:
- Demonstrates and promotes a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the Company
- Works collaboratively with supervisors and fellow team members
- Continually looks for ways to improve processes, efficiency, and personal performance
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- Performs all duties with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction
- Supports Company efforts to meet production schedules and customer requirements
- Communicates professionally with supervisors and team members to resolve issues
SAFETY:
- Follows all Company safety programs and policies
- Uses required PPE at all times when appropriate
- Reports unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the Supervisor or Safety Manager immediately
- Completes all assigned safety training within required timeframes
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Willingness to learn sheet metal fabrication and HVAC ductwork processes
- Basic math and measuring skills
- Ability to use hand tools safely
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
