The Physical Therapist Assistant works within a small multidisciplinary team in an outpatient clinic setting, providing support under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist. This role serves a mixed patient population and involves routine use of electronic medical records to document treatment and patient progress.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility support
- Prepare and maintain treatment equipment
- Monitor vital signs and ensure patient safety during sessions
- Document treatments and patient progress in EMR systems
- Educate patients on rehabilitation techniques and care
- Communicate effectively with patients and team members
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance or related field
- State Physical Therapist Assistant License
- Knowledge of patient care, therapeutic exercises, and rehabilitation techniques
- Understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Effective time management abilities
