Job description

Experienced Journeyman Commercial Glazier

IGC is seeking a highly experienced journeyman-level commercial glazier for commercial construction projects throughout the Las Vegas area.

This is not an entry-level or residential glazing position.

Applicants must have verifiable commercial glazing experience and meet all mandatory requirements listed below.

Required experience

  • Minimum 3 years of verifiable commercial glazing experience
  • Extensive experience installing aluminum storefront systems
  • Extensive experience installing curtain wall systems
  • Experience with window wall and punched-opening systems
  • Experience installing commercial aluminum doors, frames and entrances
  • Experience installing tempered, laminated, insulated and specialty architectural glass
  • Experience installing door hardware, closers, pivots, panic devices and related components
  • Experience with pressure plates, face caps, gaskets, setting blocks, anchors and fasteners
  • Experience applying structural silicone, perimeter sealants and weatherproofing materials
  • Ability to properly flash, seal and waterproof commercial glazing systems
  • Ability to perform layout, field measurements and elevations accurately
  • Ability to identify and correct field-condition conflicts
  • Ability to troubleshoot leaks, alignment problems and installation deficiencies
  • Ability to complete removals, replacements, repairs and service work when required

Mandatory qualifications

  • OSHA 30 card

  • Acceptable driving record for operation of company vehicles

Technical requirements

  • Skilled use of commercial glazing hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to safely operate scissor lifts, boom lifts and other access equipment
  • Knowledge of proper glass handling, storage and installation procedures
  • Knowledge of commercial glazing safety standards and jobsite requirements
  • Ability to inspect completed work for proper fit, alignment, operation and appearance

Physical and jobsite requirements

  • Ability to lift and safely handle heavy glass and aluminum materials
  • Ability to work from ladders and aerial lifts
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to stand, bend, climb, kneel and perform physical construction work throughout the day
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment
  • Ability to work overtime or adjusted schedules when project conditions require it

Responsibilities

  • Install commercial curtain wall, storefront, and architectural glazing systems.
  • Install aluminum doors, frames, entrances, hardware, and glass
  • Measure, cut, fabricate, and assemble aluminum components as required
  • Set glass safely and accurately
  • Complete layout and installation according to approved drawings and specifications
  • Maintain proper alignment, elevations, clearances and tolerances
  • Coordinate work with foremen, project managers, general contractors and other trades
  • Protect finished materials from damage
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow OSHA standards and all company safety procedures
  • Report material shortages, damaged products, and field conflicts promptly
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining high-quality workmanship

Compensation

$25-35 per hour, based on verified commercial glazing experience and qualifications.
