Instructional Aide

(General Education & Special Education)

?? Location: Chino Hills School District
?? Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–3:40 PM
?? Pay Rate: $20–$21 per hour, weekly pay
?? Start Date: August

Position Summary

The Instructional Aide provides classroom, instructional, and student support to help create a positive and effective learning environment. This role works closely with teachers and school staff to assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially while supporting daily classroom operations.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support
  • Assist teachers with lesson implementation and classroom activities.
  • Provide small-group and one-on-one academic support.
  • Reinforce learning objectives and help students achieve educational goals.
Classroom Management
  • Promote a safe, structured, and positive classroom environment.
  • Monitor student behavior and implement teacher-directed behavior strategies.
  • Support student engagement and participation.
Student Support
  • Provide individualized assistance to students with academic, behavioral, developmental, or physical needs.
  • Support accommodations and modifications outlined in IEPs and 504 Plans.
  • Encourage student independence and confidence.
Documentation & Communication
  • Track student progress and classroom observations.
  • Maintain accurate records as required by school staff.
  • Communicate relevant information to teachers and support personnel.
Classroom Operations
  • Prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
  • Organize supplies and maintain classroom readiness.
  • Supervise student transitions, activities, and daily routines.
Collaboration
  • Partner with teachers, specialists, counselors, and administrators to support student success.
  • Participate in meetings and training as required.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet district compliance and background check requirements.
  • Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow instructional and behavioral support plans.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with children in educational, childcare, tutoring, or youth program settings.
  • Experience supporting students with special needs.
  • Knowledge of behavior intervention techniques and classroom support strategies.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and special education environments.
Work Environment
  • School-based classroom setting with frequent student interaction.
  • May involve standing, walking, lifting, and assisting students with mobility or personal care needs.
