The Entry Level Abrasives Operator (Cell Operator) plays a key role in our manufacturing process by being a detail-oriented and reliable Entry-Level Honing Stone Manufacturer on our team. In this role, you will be responsible for manufacturing honing stones and related components according to established procedures, quality standards, and production schedules by setting up and operating production equipment. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to grow within a stable, safety-focused manufacturing environment. No prior experience is necessary-on-the-job training will be provided.
In this position, you will manufacture honing stones and components using hand tools and assembly fixtures. You will operate presses to fabricate stones, then clean and inspect each part to ensure it meets strict dimensional and cosmetic standards. You will report any quality issues to the lead and maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, or diagrams to ensure accuracy. The role includes preparing finished components for shipment, marking parts and packing lists with required information, and communicating tooling or supply needs to the Cell Leader. Accurate record production data, completing necessary documentation, and following all safety guidelines and company procedures is essential. Also, participate in cross-training and other assigned duties.
Success in this role requires the ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work independently and as part of a team, and apply basic math skills and measurement skills. You must be comfortable working with close tolerances of ±0.005 and using precision measuring instruments. The ability to read and interpret shop documentation such as simple drawings, blueprints, and specification sheets preferred but not required. Familiarity with basic hand tools or production equipment and precision quality tools.is preferred but not required. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
This job involves standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and handling materials throughout the shift. You should be able to lift 25-50 pounds occasionally and more than 50 pounds rarely, with or without assistance. Good near vision and the ability to distinguish colors are necessary for quality inspection. The role requires moving throughout large work areas and working with various tools and equipment.
You will work in generally good manufacturing conditions, with occasional exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, dust, and noise. Equipment used includes presses, sandblasters, mixing equipment, scales, kilns, and precision measuring tools. Safety, cleanliness, and consistent quality are core expectations in this environment.
