Overview

American Electric Company, LLC is seeking an experienced, thorough and reliable Project Engineer to join our team and assist on a wide range of projects on the island of Oahu. The Project Engineer will manage administration, labor, material, and company assets, as assigned, on projects within the AE Construction Mission. This position will be based out of our Mililani office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Communication with Project Manager, Field Leadership and Client
  • Project objectives, policies, procedures
  • Maintain project logs and schedules
  • Monitor construction activities with Foreman to ensure project is on schedule, in compliance with the contract documents, and within budget
  • Assist in monthly financial reports
  • Assist management of procurement and subcontractors
  • Enforce AE company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Read and interprets instructional manuals, specifications, drawings, work site directions, and written instructions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • There are no supervisory responsibilities associated with this position.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Entry level with no experience required, however some project engineer or construction experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in either construction management, engineering or equivalent education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management software/tools is a plus.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
