Position Summary: As a key member of our rapidly growing organization, our Sales Associate ultimately acts as the face of our company by delivering outstanding customer service and building strong relationships. You will be responsible for selling our fine products to restaurants and caterers, hotels and retail establishments by performing the following duties:

Territory: The Peninsula (or "Bay Area Peninsula"). The region spans from south of San Francisco to north of Palo Alto/Menlo Park. Major cities and towns include Daly City, San Bruno, Millbrae, Burlingame, San Mateo, Belmont, San Carlos, and Redwood City.

What you’ll do:

  • Produce sales revenue through the development and growth of new sales and by increasing sales with existing accounts.
  • Compile lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from networking, newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory and/or call on regular and prospective customers to secure orders.
  • Display or demonstrate product using samples or catalog, and emphasize saleable features.
  • Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules.
  • Prepare reports of business transactions and keep updated expense accounts.
  • Work with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
  • Track stock levels.
  • Enter new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with purchasing contacts.

About you:

  • One to two years of relevant experience in food is highly desired.
  • Previous sales experience in restaurant, food sales, or professional catering, and/or working as a Chef is preferred.
  • High energy, positive and enthusiastic attitude, a strong team player profile.
  • Foster a positive and innovative atmosphere which encourages people to commit to the task in hand and go beyond the call of duty in order to achieve key objectives.
  • Driven and motivated to take responsibility and ensure successful outcomes across activities despite obstacles.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple concurrent projects and initiatives.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, developing a culture of participation and involvement.
  • Gather facts and figures, monitor self and others and achieve goals in a timely and factual manner.
  • Self-starter, must ask questions and learn new skills quickly on the job.
  • Bring a sense of urgency and work under tight deadlines with short turnarounds in a fast-paced working environment.
  • College Degree or Culinary Arts desired but not required.
  • Candidates must live in the assigned geographic sales area.

Overall Compensation:

  • Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors per applicable law. The overall compensation range for this role is between $70,000 - $80,000.
  • Monthly commission.
  • Monthly vehicle car allowance stipend.
