Job Summary:Oregon State University Department of Athletics is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant or Associate Athletic Trainer: Football. This is a full-time (1.00FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
Oregon State University Athletic Training is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer position with the sport assignment of Football. The successful candidate will join a team of Certified Athletic Trainers, Athletic Training Fellows and Master of Athletic Training students in providing comprehensive care for the Football team. This position is highly collaborative in nature, and benefits from the easy access and support of a multidisciplinary health care team.
Located in the mid-Willamette Valley, this classic "college town" enjoys easy access to the Oregon Coast, Cascade Mountain range and Oregon wine country. Oregon State prides itself in a tight-knit community atmosphere where all members of the athletic department work to support one another and achieve goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Injury/illness prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation.
- Practice/event coverage.
- Day-to-day communication with coaches, supervising athletic trainers, and other healthcare providers.
- Responsible for supervision of entry-level master's athletic training students, assisting in the daily operations of the Athletic Training facilities and administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Both Assistant/Associate Athletic Trainer:
- Master's degree.
- BOC Certified Athletic Trainer.
- Minimum of 1 year certified athletic training experience
- Oregon State Athletic Trainer license or eligible.
- Certified Health Care Provider (CPR/AED).
- The ability to lift/carry/push/pull objects weighing 50 pounds.
- Demonstrates excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in a manner that shows respect and inclusivity for all co-workers and internal customers.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Additionally, if Associate Athletic Trainer:
- Minimum of 8 years certified athletic training experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Both Assistant & Associate Athletic Trainer:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
- Basic understanding ofNCAADivision I culture.
- Experience working in collegiate athletics.
- NFL or NCAA Division 1 Football Athletic Training Experience
Additionally, if Associate Athletic Trainer:
- Demonstrates leadership experience
- Demonstrates experience managing complex administrative duties
- Demonstrates experience in a supervisory role
