Job description

CPI AdamWorks in Centennial, Colorado, has a need for an entry-level Buyer to join our staff. We design and build composite structures for aircraft, defense, and space and would love you to consider joining our team! The Buyer is responsible for quoting, negotiating pricing and purchasing inventory and materials in support of CPI needs. Works with close supervision.
Who We Are: CPI AdamWorks is a division of CPI Radant Technologies Division. They are located in Centennial, Colorado. Together, we are the radome-and-composite-structures division of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI). We are formally known as CPI Radant Technologies Division, and we serve the aerospace, defense, naval, and commercial industries by designing, manufacturing, testing and supporting advanced composite radomes, reflectors and structural composite products.
What We Do: Radomes are special "domes" made of composite materials that protect antennas and radar systems from the environment while allowing electromagnetic signals to pass. CPI Radant produces these for critical applications, meaning:
  • They enable secure communications and radar/electronic-warfare capabilities for military and commercial aerospace platforms.
  • Their manufacturing includes large apertures and high-frequency performance.
  • Their advances in composite manufacturing and large structures feed into modern aircraft, satellites, naval vessels, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Primary Liaison between CPI and our suppliers
  • Creates and maintains purchase orders
  • Pulls all documentation and sends out quote requests to suppliers
  • Evaluates supplier quotes and awards accordingly
  • Works with Planning to disposition Excess and Obsolete material
  • Assists Accounts Payables to resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Escalates supplier related issues in a prompt manner
  • Helps resolve issues and answer questions from other CPI employees
  • Performs other tasks and duties as required
  • $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Working experience with ERP and/or MRP systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
  • Working knowledge of item attributes and their effects on MRP messages
  • Ability to present possible solutions when notifying management of an issue
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • In-depth knowledge/understanding of Government contractor purchasing requirements
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree and/or APICS certification a plus
  • 2 to 4 years' experience as a Buyer within a manufacturing environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing
  • Ability to work seated at a computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to go onto the shop floor and other departments as needed
