Job Title: MRI Technologist

Experience: Minimum years of experience required
License: Must meet applicant eligibility requirements for MRI Certification and achieve it within 12 months of hire date.
Certifications: AHA BLS required
Must-Have:
- Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited educational program with emphasis in a primary cardiovascular specialty; or
- Graduate of a JRCERT accredited educational program with emphasis in a radiologic technology specialty.
Description:
This entry-level position works under the supervision and direction of a mentor/preceptor.
The role aims to achieve initial competencies required to deliver specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services.
Responsibilities include providing safe, high-quality, efficient, and patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions.
The technologist prepares patients for procedures and correlates clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
Communication and collaboration with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team are essential.
Utilizing specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment and techniques, a diverse range of diagnostic, interventional, and/or surgical procedures are performed.
Post-procedure reviews are conducted to confirm that all required elements are completed and documented.
Images and data are transferred to appropriate archival systems, and technical data/findings are entered.
Operator-level quality control checks, cleaning, disinfecting, and maintenance per regulatory guidelines are performed.
Participation in continuing education, professional development, and research activities is encouraged to maintain competencies and promote improvements in care and treatments.
The role requires skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, and medical terminology.
The candidate must be able to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and consistently report to work as scheduled.
Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs is important.
The ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes is required.
The position demands the ability to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and exercise discretion with confidential information.
Candidates must be able to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations, as well as understand operations, policies, and procedures.
Effective communication with staff, patients, and their families in a professional and compassionate manner is essential.
A high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments efficiently is expected.
The ability to work with minimal supervision and attention to detail is necessary.
Core knowledge of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology, as well as relevant technologies and terminology, is required.
Skills to apply core-level theory and practices for procedure documentation with general supervision are necessary.
