Job description

MRI Technologist / MRI Tech - Outpatient Imaging | Syracuse, NY | Full-Time

We are seeking a patient-focused MRI Technologist to join a busy Imaging Department in Syracuse, New York. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an imaging professional who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care and producing exceptional diagnostic images in a fast-paced outpatient setting. In this role, you will perform MRI procedures, support safe and efficient patient flow, and help maintain the highest standards of imaging quality, safety, and service. Position Details:

Department: Imaging / Radiology

Location: Syracuse, NY

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM

Compensation: $38.60 - $53.00 per hour ($80,288 - $110,240 annually)

Key Responsibilities:

MRI Imaging & Patient Care

  • Perform high-quality MRI procedures in accordance with physician orders and department protocols
  • Prepare and position patients for MRI exams while ensuring comfort, safety, and clear communication throughout the procedure
  • Review and verify imaging requests for accuracy and completeness
  • Produce diagnostic-quality images while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to patient needs

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all MRI safety protocols, including thorough patient screening and equipment safety procedures
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors within the MRI suite
  • Adhere to all applicable internal policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with departmental and regulatory requirements

Systems, Equipment & Department Support

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of PACS, RIS, and EMR systems
  • Check MRI equipment for proper performance and report any issues promptly
  • Perform routine quality assurance tasks and coordinate service or maintenance as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and imaging rooms
  • Collaborate with radiologists, providers, nurses, and fellow imaging staff to support smooth departmental operations
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology or related imaging program
  • Current ARRT certification required
  • MRI certification required or eligibility to obtain, based on role requirements
  • Active licensure as required
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

  • New graduates are welcome to apply
  • 1-2+ years of MRI experience preferred
  • Experience in an outpatient imaging setting is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of MRI safety standards and patient screening protocols
  • Excellent communication, organization, and patient care skills
