Job description

Job Summary:
The MIL Corporation seeks a System Security Engineer (Engineering, Analyst) that will support our Naval Aviation acquisition programs, which has an exciting opportunity supporting a major ACAT developmental program. This role involves applying engineering principles to military weapons systems and collaborating with various defense agencies to ensure compliance with protection standards.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan, design, develop, implement, test or evaluate military weapons systems. Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals and other technical documentation. Applies systems engineering experience to perform functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Analyzes designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems, or management information systems.
โ€ข Participates in identification of weapon system critical program information (CPI), and determination of consequence of compromise.
โ€ข Conducts critical analysis and modeling on proposed architectures.
โ€ข Documents protective architectures.
โ€ข Develops and advocates contractual requirements in support of developmental programs.
โ€ข Facilitates evaluation of weapons system architectures for compliance to protection standards.
โ€ข Coordinates with program, service, Joint and Department of Defense agencies to ensure system horizontal protection requirements are met.
โ€ข Assists the Navy Verification & Validation (V&V) team with assessment of system designs and solutions.
โ€ข Supports program risk management, mitigation and reporting.
โ€ข Communicates across the technical teams to share information, address issues, and accelerate pace of new development.
โ€ข Serves as a Technical Review Board (TRB) member for systems technical events providing SSE expertise.
โ€ข A Journeyman level person typically performs all functional duties independently.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข At least three (3) or more years of recent and relevant experience in systems engineering including Systems Security Engineering and associated role
โ€ข Must have experience in developing Program Protection Plans and associated artifacts
โ€ข Must have experience developing and understanding aircraft network architectures
โ€ข Must have programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems and as well as guiding the engineering development of modern complex systems
โ€ข Required experience with application of systems engineering methods and tools in the development of weapon systems
โ€ข Knowledge and direct experience in systems engineering, SSE and cyber security related to weapon systems and platforms
โ€ข Knowledge and understanding of systems engineering processes and applications
โ€ข Knowledge and experience in DoD systems acquisition life cycle
โ€ข BA/BS degree from an accredited college or university in Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Software, Network, Cyber Security, Systems Engineering, or related derivative degrees
โ€ข All applicants for this position must possess a current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret/SCI clearance
Preferred:
โ€ข Knowledge of model-based systems engineering & digital engineering transformations
โ€ข Recent and direct experience in AT systems engineering is highly desired
โ€ข Recent and direct experience with DoD acquisitions is highly desired
โ€ข Masterโ€™s degree in related scientific or technical discipline
