Job description

Electrical Design Engineer

Our client is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with a progressive track record of growth and professional development. They will be part of the design team that is currently designing transmission line, substations, switch stations and other electrical infrastructure. Our client is located in the Sioux Falls/Brookings area and provides the small town environment with all the necessary and desirable amenities in your back yard.

WHAT THE COMPANY WILL OFFER YOU:

·        $100-160K

THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:

·        Provide leadership to an engineering team that designs electrical utility projects.

·        Provide oversight and ensure construction is being done within the scope of work requirements, company guidelines and the appropriate engineering standards.

·        Make recommendation and work through problems to resolution during the construction phase.

·        Identify potential issues that could interview with the progress of the construction plan, the construction and operations budget with the team to ensure all aspects of the project are completed as required and within budget.

·        Work with supervisor and engineering team to do ongoing reviews of policies, procedures and action plans and make recommendations for any necessary changes.

·        Assist with the development of short-term and long-term work and infrastructure improvement plans.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:

·        Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and 3 years of progressive work experience with the design of utility type infrastructure.

·        Ability to use AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, ESRI and other applicable software packages.

·        Proficient with computer systems and Microsoft Office products.

·        Ability to determine work priorities, timelines and appropriate resources to get the job done.

·        Excellent problem solving and communication skills are a must.

·        All candidates must be US Citizens or permanent residents of the US.
