Job description

Patient Account Representative - Medical Billing
Our Medical Billing department is looking for a Patient Account Representative to join the team. A Patient Account Representative will take care of patients calls inquiring about their medical bill. The patient account representative assists patients with anything that has to do with the submitting and/or payment of claims. Even though medical billing experience it's preferred, entry level candidates with medical customer service background are welcome to apply!
Location: Taylorsville
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00 - 5:00pm
Pay: $16.00-19.50/hour DOE
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Excellent customer service, communication, multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Typing / key-boarding skills
  • Must be a team player and enjoy working with people.
  • Must be able to read, understand and communicate in English.
  • Be able to read Explanation of Benefits and understand coinsurance, copays, and deductibles

Essential Functions and Duties:
  • Greet patients presenting for medical or other services in a courteous manner.
  • Answer telephones in a professional manner.
  • Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with physicians, clinic staff and patients regarding their billing questions.
  • Follow up with denial reps and medical coders to have claim reviewed and rebilled
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • 1- 2 year of Medical Receptionist or Patient Account Representative experience preferred
  • 1-year Billing or Coding experience preferred
  • Recent medical customer service experience
  • Bilingual is a plus
