SUMMARY:
This role is a transitional, entry-level position designed to train the trainee on the necessary skills required to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A). Candidates hired into this position are required to take and pass the C.N.A Training Class and state mandated test in order to earn their C.N.A Certification. Once classes have been successfully completed, employee may begin working as a nursing aide until certification is obtained.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide daily personal care and assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, toileting, feeding, ambulation, transfers, and promoting resident independence.
  • Support residents with personal services such as laundry, room upkeep, entertainment, letter writing, and engaging in meaningful conversations.
  • Assist with clinical tasks under supervision (vital signs, specimen collection, dressing changes, intake/output, admissions, discharges, end-of-life care) and promptly report changes in condition or safety concerns.
  • Collaborate with nurses, families, and the interdisciplinary team; participate in care conferences, attend required in-services, and float to other units as needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • C.N.A Certification required to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including telephone etiquette
  • Sound judgement, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize
  • Detail and service-oriented

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
