Note: Candidates must be licensed and in good standing with the California Bar and have at least 2+ years of litigation experience involving air and/or water contamination, fire cases, environmental litigation, toxic torts, or other complex civil litigation.

Job Description

  • Manage a caseload of mass tort and environmental litigation matters from inception through resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and factual investigations involving environmental exposure and liability.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, briefs, and legal memoranda.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, experts, and litigation support teams to develop case strategy.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and co-counsel.
  • Analyze complex factual and legal issues while developing innovative litigation strategies.
  • Maintain deadlines and effectively prioritize multiple active matters.

Qualifications

  • Active California Bar license in good standing.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience.
  • 2+ years handling air contamination, water contamination, fire cases, environmental litigation, toxic torts, or comparable complex litigation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience with discovery, motion practice, and case management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative litigation environment.
