Job description

Production Operator E, Tacoma, WA

Arclin Surfaces, USA is seeking talent for a Production Operator E opportunity available in Tacoma, WA. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this position is responsible for operating, packaging, and maintaining machinery during the production operation to ensure compliance with Arclin’s goals and objectives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Operates sheeter and rewinder machinery to make finished goods
  • Packages finished good bundles as they are produced according to customer specifications
  • Operates a forklift to load/unload raw materials (drums, totes, bags)
  • Collaborates with crew to meet the production and shipping schedule
  • Ensures required packaging documents are completed and procedures are followed to be in compliance with all regulations and corporate requirements
  • Participates with the Health and Safety Committee to facilitate safety improvements
  • Follows all site rules and procedures as they apply to quality, health, safety, and the environment
  • Visually monitors processes within their area of accountability and immediately informs the Line Operator of any deviations or abnormalities
  • Works in close coordination with the Line Operator to accomplish the tasks needed to safely and efficiently meet production and maintenance schedules across all processes
  • Communicates and confers with the Line Operator as well as with Technical, Supervisory, and Support Personnel to resolve process conditions affecting safety, efficiency, and product quality
  • Responds to process alarms and interlocks promptly and coordinates timely confirmation and corrective actions to resolve conditions generating the alarms and interlocks
  • Performs troubleshooting in the event of process deviations

 

To be successful, you will need:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Forklift experience a plus but must be able to become certified
  • Analytical and mechanical mindset needed to be successful in this role
  • Previous chemical/processing experience a plus
  • Must be ok with 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights/Weekends)
  • Must be ok with following strict Health and Safety Guidelines and wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
  • Ability to stand, walk, and climb; occassionally working in elevated areas
  • Will lift an average of 25 lbs frequently
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Basic math skills required including the use of a calculator
  • Ability to operate safely in a manufacturing environment; this may include, but is not limited to, potentially lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods of time, bending, crouching, stooping, rotating, climbing stairs, or any combination of the aforementioned, etc.

This is an entry-level, full-time position, and reports to the Production Supervisor.  The Operator is responsible for performing tasks and duties pertaining to the manufacturing and processing of saturated paper overlays. This role is required to know and perform all assigned production department functions in compliance with EHS - Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations, and Arclin’s policies and procedures, to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.
