Description
Delivery Drivers are responsible for local and long-distance driving company vehicle with a capacity of more than 3 tons to deliver and pick up loads of finished product, goods, materials and paper stock. This position must maintain, clean, inspect and operate the Company truck and van. When not operating a company vehicle, they provide support with shipping/receiving functions.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Load, transport and deliver items to clients or businesses locally or out-of-state in a safe, timely manner
  • Review orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, in good condition, and meet weight requirements
  • Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles
  • Provide excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling complaints from clients
  • Adhere to assigned routes and following time schedules
  • Abide by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record
  • Prepare reports and other documents relating to deliveries
  • Operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1-3 years previous driving experience in manufacturing industry preferred
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to read scales and record measurements (basic math skills)
  • Willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws
  • Strong time management and customer service skills

Physical Requirements
  • Requires use of proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling and bending
  • Pushing/pulling and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity and coordination
  • Requires near visual acuity
  • Requires working around and operating departmental equipment
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department in the facility
  • Requires the ability to function in a professional manner under stressful circumstances
