Job description

The mission of the Quality Technician is to provide quality support and oversight of Turbotec's production line to ensure conformance to product requirements. In support of this objective, ancillary skills may be called upon to perform calibrations, internal audits, and to assist in training inspection personnel. This position reports to the Engineering/Quality Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
Main duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform verifications of incoming, in-process and outgoing products and documents inspection results.
  • Performs First Article Inspections by measuring dimensions using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, rulers, etc. and go/no go acceptance gages and documents inspection results.
  • Performs Calibrations, prepares purchase requisitions for calibration services and maintains calibration records.
  • Performs internal audits to verify conformance with quality requirements.
  • Prepare audit reports detailing audit results and perform follow ups to ensure that corrective actions are effective.
  • Assists and/or trains operators on visual part acceptability, measurement, and inspection procedures as required.
  • Performs product testing such as hydrogen trace gas leak detection, standard hydrostatic pressure leak detection, and helium leak testing to verify product conformity as required.
  • Performs Cleanliness audits to verify cleanliness of products.
  • Reviews nonconformance tickets for completeness and accuracy.
  • Return goods analysis including sectional review.

In pursuing these responsibilities, the Quality Assurance Technician's primary interface will be with Manufacturing and Production.

To perform this function successfully, the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities are required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Basic Math & Geometry
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Flexibility based on plant production schedules.
  • Interpersonal and people skills
  • Oral and written communication skills

Required Education and Experience
  • A minimum of one year's previous experience.
