Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Overview

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE) is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Leak Location Technician to join our specialized team focused on membrane systems across a variety of applications, not limited to roofing, tanks, ponds, landfill liner systems. This role involves using advanced Electronic Leak Location (ELL) technology, including the dipole method and other techniques, to detect leaks in a wide range of membrane installations, such as waterproofing membranes used in roofing, ponds, tanks, foundations, tunnels, and more. The successful candidate will work to ensure the integrity of membrane systems in various commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Electronic Leak Location (ELL) testing on various membrane systems, including those used in roofing, foundations, walls, ponds, tanks, tunnels, and other waterproofing applications.

  • Utilize the dipole method for detecting leaks in covered membranes, such as those beneath soil, pavers, ballast, or concrete.

  • Operate specialized ELL equipment to identify potential breaches in membrane systems across diverse project environments.

  • Mark areas of concern on-site and provide accurate documentation of findings.

  • Prepare detailed summary reports and aerial maps to show the locations of leaks and recommend corrective measures.

  • Maintain and calibrate ELL equipment to ensure accurate performance for all types of membrane systems.

  • Travel to project sites across the U.S. for on-site testing and assessments.

  • Work closely with BLE's project managers and clients to ensure timely and clear communication of findings.

  • Follow BLE's safety protocols and industry standards for all testing performed.

  • Continuously update skills and knowledge to stay current with advances in leak detection technology and membrane applications.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in waterproofing, roofing, or construction a plus).

  • Experience in construction or related fields preferred; however, entry-level candidates with strong technical aptitude will be considered.

  • Familiarity with electronic testing equipment, especially leak detection systems for membranes in roofing, ponds, foundations, and other infrastructure.

  • Willingness to learn

  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to accurately identify and document leaks in various membrane environments.

  • Willingness to travel frequently to different project sites.

  • Good physical condition, able to work in varied environments including rooftops, tunnels, and other outdoor or enclosed spaces.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with membrane systems beyond roofing, such as waterproofing foundations, walls, and tunnels.

  • Familiarity with GPS technology or mapping software to create aerial maps of leak locations.
