Job description

Clio is the global leader in legal AI technology, empowering legal professionals and law firms of every size to work smarter, faster, and more securely.

We are transforming the legal experience for all by bettering the lives of legal professionals while increasing access to justice.

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Developer with strong system analysis and integration development capabilities to join our IT Systems team, with a primary allocation to the Finance Systems team as a dedicated integrations specialist. This role combines hands-on iPaaS development with the ability to translate complex finance business requirements into structured, reliable, secure, and well-documented integration solutions, while leveraging AI to drive process automation and standardization. You will design, build, and maintain integrations connecting critical finance systems such as NetSuite, Coupa, and Leapfin, working closely with the Finance Systems team who specialize in NetSuite and Coupa.

The ideal candidate can operate independently, own integrations end to end, and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced SaaS environment. You will be expected to explore and apply AI-powered tools and techniques to accelerate development, improve process consistency, and unlock new automation opportunities across finance operations. As a steward of sensitive financial data, you will play a key role in upholding Clio's high compliance and security standards across all integration touchpoints.

This role is available to candidates across our Canadian hubs (Burnaby, Calgary, or Toronto). All hub-based Clions are expected to be in the office for a minimum of twice per week on one of our Anchor Days.
What You'll Work On

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom integrations that connect finance systems including NetSuite, Coupa, and Leapfin, ensuring reliable, secure, and auditable data flows across the finance technology stack

  • Identify opportunities for automation across finance operations and implement solutions using code, iPaaS platforms, and AI-powered tooling to improve the velocity of Clions globally

  • Partner with the Finance Systems team as the go-to integrations expert for finance workflows such as procure-to-pay, revenue recognition, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger processes. This includes leading requirement gathering, translating business needs into technical specifications, data flow diagrams, and field mapping documentation

  • Build event-driven automations, webhook-based triggers, and bulk data synchronization processes with robust monitoring, error handling, and retry mechanisms to ensure data consistency and production-grade reliability

  • Support integration development and testing during NetSuite, Coupa, and Leapfin implementation and enhancement projects, collaborating with consulting partners and vendors on technical integration requirements

  • Document integration architectures, data flows, API specifications, and troubleshooting procedures to support operational continuity and audit readiness

What You Bring

  • Strong expertise with iPaaS or middleware platforms such as Workato, Celigo, or Boomi, including workflow/recipe development, custom connector configuration, error handling, and performance optimization

  • Practical experience in one of the following languages:

    • Ruby

    • Python

    • Golang

    • Bash

  • Direct experience working with finance systems such as NetSuite, Coupa, or Leapfin, with strong system analysis skills and a solid understanding of finance business processes including procure-to-pay, revenue recognition, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger workflows

  • Fluency in modern API standards (REST, GraphQL), authentication methods (OAuth, API tokens, SAML), and integration patterns including webhooks, event-driven architectures, bulk data processing, and data transformation

  • A strong understanding of compliance and security best practices as they relate to financial data integrations, including SOC 2 controls, data privacy, access management, and audit trail requirements

  • Demonstrated interest or hands-on experience leveraging AI tools and techniques (e.g., AI-assisted development, intelligent automation, LLM-based workflow optimization) to improve process efficiency and standardization.

  • A keen interest in improving your craft by using AI.

Bonus Points
  • Experience with iPaaS or middleware platforms (e.g., Workato, Celigo, Boomi, Okta Workflows)

  • Background working at a high-growth SaaS company

  • Experience with other enterprise systems (e.g., Workday, Salesforce, Hubspot) and a broad understanding of how they integrate within a modern finance tech stack

  • Experience supporting internal or external audit processes related to system integrations and financial data flows

  • Experience implementing AI-driven automation in a finance or enterprise systems context, such as intelligent document processing, predictive reconciliation, or AI-assisted data validation
