Job description

Come join a 4th generation business that has been family-owned for over 120 years! We began as a mineral-exploration drilling company in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania in 1900, and have adapted with the times to become a manufacturer. With 4 locations our Winchester, VA location is a hub of our manufacturing operation!
What you will do:
  • Close and grow equipment sales through professional communication with existing and potential clients
  • Manage and interpret customer requirements - speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs.
  • Communicate sales or service opportunities and customer concerns or suggestions
  • Identify and resolve client concerns; recommending a course of action to alleviate these concerns in the future
  • Expand market awareness of our products and our industry experience by communicating features and benefits of our products and services effectively.
  • Work with the manufacturing team to ensure customer project requirements are met.
  • Maintaining records of customer communications and contact information as required
  • Making technical presentations and webinars
  • Preparing responses to RFP (request for proposals) and RFI (request for information)
  • Attending and participating in trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Maintain awareness of pertinent client information, future plans, payment performance; communicate any client information that may affect company decisions to appropriate departments as needed
  • Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and price calculations
  • Researches market requirements and market data
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor products and identify and report intelligence on competitor pricing or marketing strategies
  • Maintains current company product knowledge
  • Demonstrate and explain best practices in installation techniques for company products
  • Submit a variety of sales status reports as required, including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
  • Submit quarterly customer visit plans; schedule client meetings and action plans for follow-up
  • Send legal documents to customers and send signed copies to corporate for filing
  • Gather feedback and identify opportunities for existing product line and potential new product design.
  • Provide technical assistance to solve problems.
  • Provide inside sales supports for part, machine, and tooling orders.
  • Familiarize self with inventory software.
  • Manage prioritization of activities to meet project timeline requirements.
  • Plan and execute special projects as assigned.
  • Lead marketing efforts.
  • Prioritize product build efforts in conjunction with manufacturing.

We seek a candidate with:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in equipment sales, preferred.
  • Five or more year of experience in construction, preferred.
  • Proven sales or marketing experience
  • Working knowledge of problem-solving techniques required.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong business acumen and customer focus.
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Must possess valid state driver's license as the position requires travel to client locations and for prospecting meetings
