Job Description
Summer Intern - Marketing & Digital Media
Under direct supervision, Summer Interns participate in a ten-week professional development program designed to provide hands-on, entry-level experience aligned with the student's major field of study and the sponsoring department's business operations. Interns gain real-world exposure to OCTA operations and the transportation industry while contributing to meaningful projects and learning from experienced professionals. In this assignment, the Intern will assist with digital marketing, social media content creation, campaign planning, and performance analysis while gaining real-world exposure to public-sector marketing in the transportation industry
As a Summer College Intern, you will be exposed to OCTA's career opportunities in the transportation industry. You will gain deeper awareness of transportation's many facets through your OCTA orientation, projects and teams, and internal networking.
This is a temporary, full-time internship position (approximately 40 hours per week) and runs for ten weeks during the summer. The pay range is from $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on your education level.
This posting will remain open until filled.
What You'll Do
  • Support marketing initiatives across social media, email, digital advertising, and campaign planning
  • Assist in developing creative briefs and planning content for digital channels
  • Create and schedule content for OCTA's social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube)
  • Capture, edit, and publish video content, including reels and short-form media
  • Research and share emerging social media trends and engagement strategies
  • Draft and edit email and blog content for internal and external audiences
  • Analyze digital marketing performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Support marketing campaigns and special projects

What We're Looking For
  • Currently enrolled full-time college student (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, or Senior) at an accredited two- or four-year college or university
  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Media, Journalism, or related field
  • Students that graduated with their bachelor's degree from an accredited college in the fall of 2025 or plan to graduate in the spring of 2026 are eligible
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Creativity and interest in social media, content creation, and digital trends
  • Basic knowledge of digital marketing tools and platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
