Job description

Job Summary

At Koala Insulation of Cleveland West Side, we are looking for a motivated, skilled individual who is eager to develop and apply their skills in ways to make a positive impact to our communities. This position within the company is expected to consistently perform high-quality insulation services in attics and crawlspaces. In addition, this role is responsible for identifying and correcting spray foam issues and providing coaching to more junior installers.

Duties/Responsibilities

Installer Level

1. Safety: Adheres to jobsite safety in accordance with all federal, state, and local

occupational and health and safety laws. Ensures that rig is safely driven to jobsite

locations.

2. Operations: Removes and installs insulation based on specifications of each job.

Follows standard operation procedures with equipment set up and operation.

Completes a high quality job while maintaining efficiency. Has working knowledge of all

types of insulation installation (blown-in, spray foam, and batts) and consistently

performs quality checks.

3. Technical: Diagnoses and resolves issues in the field alongside Crew Leader.

4. Customer Service: Communicates professionally with customer. Maintains a

professional image and thoroughly cleans jobsite upon completion of the job.

5. Other: Continuous improvement of customer service, quality, efficiency, and safety.

Provides instruction and training to junior team members. Communicates any issues to

supervisor. Performs other related duties as required.

Installer Assistant Level

This is an entry-level role that does not require prior insulation experience, but a willingness to follow instruction, learn, and work hard with a good attitude.

1. Safety: Adheres to jobsite safety in accordance with company safety policy.

2. Operations: Assists installers and crew leads with support activities -- load and unload trailer, monitor equipment, cleanup, setup scaffolding and ladders, move materials around the jobsite

3. Technical: Monitor equipment per crew leader instructions.

4. Customer Service: Communicates professionally with customer. Maintains a

professional image and thoroughly cleans jobsite upon completion of the job.

5. Other: Communicates any issues to supervisor. Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent time management.

• Ability to troubleshoot, operate, and maintain equipment.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• A willingness to work hard and desire to learn new skill

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma/GED required

• Prior experience in construction, manufacturing, landscaping, or related field preferred

• Prior experience driving pickup truck / trailer combinations preferred

• Clean driving record

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

• Ability to pass a DOT physical

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of walking, standing, stooping, climbing, kneeling, and crawling.

• Working environment may be subject to high temperatures, confined spaces, dust/dirt, hazardous chemicals, and heights.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds frequently.
