What is an Entry Level Inbound Sales Development Representative?

An Entry Level Inbound Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a professional who handles incoming leads and inquiries from potential customers, qualifying them for the sales team. Their main responsibility is to engage with prospects who have shown interest in the company's products or services, understand their needs, and determine if they're a good fit. The SDR then schedules appointments or passes qualified leads to more senior sales representatives for further engagement. This role is often a starting point for a career in sales, providing valuable experience in customer communication and lead management.

Job description

About the role
ZenQMS is looking for a Sales Development Representative to join our growing sales team. You will have the opportunity to work within a very different sales culture. One that rewards its sales people for success and also fosters an environment of kindness towards others and self-growth.
We have developed a reputation in the industry, so many of our deals have come to us directly through inbound channels, but this is a new vertical. This person will be critical to our newly developed outbound strategy.
Want to be part of a team that feels like a community and where it is genuinely fun to come to work each day? We want to meet you.
What you'll do
  • Find and generate new opportunities through outbound prospecting into Life Science companies within our ICP
  • Lead a 15-minute qualification call with the client:
    • Confirm key points such as industry, employee count, current provider, timeline and budget.
    • Create the deal (company and contacts as needed) in Hubspot
    • Post notes and contact information into Hubspot
    • Utilize the Sales team calendars to schedule a Introduction-Discovery meeting with the prospect
    • Seamlessly handoff the client to the Sales team to continue the process
  • Encourage use of the lead qualification survey by prospects
  • Focused prospecting for new deals through email, social media, conference/event follow up, webinar follow up and other innovative channels
  • Effectively use tools to communicate with our prospects via phone, email, screen share and/or other technology
  • Manage leads, tasks and relationships in an organized and professional manner
  • Maintain active engagement with prospects through persistent outreach
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to tackle each vertical, develop new programs, collateral, sequences, call strategies, and messaging to drive opportunities for new business
  • Achieve and exceed monthly revenue benchmarks while maintaining daily and weekly activity metrics
  • Participate in collaborative efforts across the team to iterate and improve the sales process
  • Keep CRM up to date

What you'll bring
  • >1 year of experience in a SDR role in B2B software sales, with preference to those with life sciences industry experience
  • An awesome disposition that fits within our community- we're not looking for sharp elbows. This is a key point in our diligence
  • Experience generating opportunities via outbound channels required
  • Hard-worker and initiative-taker who is looking for ways to contribute value to the company and constantly seeks to improve your own and team ideas and processes
  • Coachable, open to new ideas and feedback, constantly looking to improve your skills, and possesses a positive attitude
  • Persuasive with demonstrated history of success
  • Proven relationship building skills
  • Local to our office in Ardmore, PA is strongly preferred
    • Local candidates must be able to work out of our Ardmore, PA office 2-3x per week.
    • East Coast candidates must be able to come to our Ardmore, PA based office 1-2x per month.
    • Some additional travel is required
