Job Title: Entry-Level Shop Technician

Department: Service

Reports To: Service Supervisor / Service Manager

Position Summary:

Kimball Equipment is seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Shop Technician to support shop operations by assisting with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of crushing, screening, and aggregate equipment. This position is ideal for individuals looking to start a career in the heavy equipment industry. The role provides hands-on training and development opportunities while working alongside experienced technicians.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist technicians with maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds of crushing and screening equipment.
  • Perform basic tasks such as cleaning, disassembly, and reassembly of components.
  • Prepare tools, parts, and equipment for jobs and work orders.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
  • Support equipment inspections and help document findings.
  • Operate basic shop tools and equipment under supervision.
  • Assist with loading/unloading equipment and parts.
  • Follow all company, MSHA, and OSHA safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Learn to read service manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical aptitude or interest in heavy equipment repair.
  • Previous shop, construction, or mechanical experience is a plus but not required.
