HVAC Counter Sales Associate

We are seeking an energetic, customer-focused HVAC Counter Sales Associate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys helping customers find the right solutions for their HVAC needs.

Position Summary

The HVAC Counter Sales Associate serves as the face of our branch by providing exceptional customer service and technical product support to HVAC contractors, technicians, and walk-in customers. This position is responsible for assisting customers with product selection, processing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting branch operations.

The ideal candidate is a team player who enjoys building customer relationships, solving problems, and delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Greet customers promptly and provide exceptional service at the sales counter.
  • Assist customers with product selection, pricing, availability, and technical information.
  • Process sales orders, quotes, returns, and exchanges accurately.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors and service technicians to promote repeat business.
  • Recommend additional products and solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.

Order Management

  • Enter and process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate special orders and communicate delivery timelines.
  • Follow up on open orders and keep customers informed of order status.
  • Assist with warranty claims and product returns when necessary.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

  • Pull and stage customer orders for pickup.
  • Receive, stock, and organize inventory.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Maintain showroom displays and product merchandising.
  • Ensure products are properly labeled and stocked.

Branch Operations

  • Support branch goals by promoting teamwork and operational excellence.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Attend training sessions and stay current on HVAC products, technologies, and industry trends.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with point-of-sale or order-entry systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred

  • HVAC, plumbing, electrical, construction, or wholesale distribution experience.
  • HVAC/R product knowledge.
  • Counter sales, inside sales, or customer service experience.
  • Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.
