Job description

Description

Celtic Property Management is seeking a highly personable, compassionate, and experienced Assistant Community Manager to join the established onsite team at Sunrise Vista in Phoenix, Arizona.

This is not an entry-level property management position. We are looking for someone who understands affordable housing, can step into the role with confidence, and has the experience necessary to hit the ground running.

Just as important as technical knowledge, we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with people. Sunrise Vista serves a diverse resident population, including residents participating in SMI supportive housing programs. The right candidate must be patient, empathetic, respectful, professional, and able to work effectively with residents who may require additional understanding, communication, and support.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Prior Assistant Manager, Community Manager, or affordable housing property management experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HUD requirements
  • Experience with Section 8 and voucher-based housing programs
  • Strong knowledge of LIHTC/Tax Credit compliance
  • Experience with certifications, recertifications, income verification, resident files, and compliance documentation
  • Experience with leasing, rent collection, delinquency, resident accounts, and notices
  • Ability to understand and follow Fair Housing requirements and company policies
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a busy onsite environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Yardi strongly preferred

Requirements

 The Person We're Looking For

Technical knowledge is important, but personality and approach matter just as much at Sunrise Vista.

We need someone who is compassionate, patient, kind, professional, and dependable.

You should be comfortable working with SMI residents and individuals from a variety of backgrounds and circumstances while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and consistently applying property policies.

We are looking for someone who can listen, de-escalate difficult situations, communicate respectfully, and treat every resident with dignity while still holding residents accountable to lease and community requirements.

Be Part of a Strong Onsite Team

You will not be doing this alone.

Sunrise Vista has an established onsite office and maintenance team, and we are looking for an Assistant Community Manager who wants to become an important part of that team.

We want someone who communicates, collaborates, supports their coworkers, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and understands that successful property operations require the entire team working toward the same goals.

You should come to work with a vision for helping Sunrise Vista succeed-not simply completing a list of daily tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include assisting the Community Manager with:

  • Daily property operations
  • Resident relations and customer service
  • Leasing and occupancy
  • HUD, Section 8/voucher, and LIHTC compliance
  • Certifications and recertifications
  • Rent collection and delinquency follow-up
  • Resident file documentation and compliance
  • Coordination with the maintenance team
  • Property and unit inspections
  • Resident notices and correspondence
  • Reporting and property management system documentation
  • Supporting overall property performance and company goals

The Assistant Community Manager will also be expected to step in and support property operations when the Community Manager is unavailable.

What Celtic Property Management Has to Offer

At Celtic Property Management, we recognize that our employees are the foundation of our success. We offer a supportive environment where experienced property management professionals can make an impact, grow their careers, and be part of a team committed to providing quality housing and service to our residents.

  • Competitive compensation
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance options, paid group term life insurance
  • Paid time off and 11 paid holidays
  • Employee referral bonus opportunities
  • Training and professional development opportunities
  • Opportunities for career growth and advancement
  • A collaborative onsite and corporate support team
  • The opportunity to work for a growing property management organization
  • A workplace where your experience, ideas, and contributions are valued

Why Celtic Property Management?

At Celtic Property Management, we believe successful communities are built by strong teams. We value employees who take ownership, support one another, care about their residents, and want to grow with the company.

If you have the affordable housing knowledge, property management experience, and most importantly the patience and compassion to serve the Sunrise Vista community, we would like to hear from you.

Apply today and tell us about your HUD, Section 8/voucher, LIHTC/Tax Credit, and affordable housing experience.
