Your role and responsibilities
As an Associate Consultant at IBM you will help us usher clients into a new age of future-looking technology. You'll be assisting clients in the selection, implementation, and support of applications, methodology, and tools. Are you passionate about threat hunting and forensic investigations? Put your technical skills in the spotlight securing our clients' most important assets. As an Associate X-Force Incident Response Consultant, you'll engage with clients to effectively secure their environments.
You must be able to rapidly learn new technologies and processes with minimal assistance. Travel depends on project requirements.
Required education

Required technical and professional expertise
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enhance collaboration and relationship building, while also managing dynamic workloads in an agile environment
  • Have initiative and passion to actively seek new knowledge and improve skills while embracing a growth mindset to assimilate diverse viewpoints
  • Demonstrated proficiency in one or more of the following Security Domains: Incident Response, Digital Forensics, Threat Hunting
  • Understanding of cyber security related vulnerabilities, common attack vectors, and mitigations.
  • Understanding of Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR) tools to hunt for threats.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential - demonstrated ability to break down complex, ambiguous problems, evaluate multiple perspectives, and develop innovative, practical solutions.
  • Communication skills: able to communicate fluently in English.
  • Knowledge of Operating Systems such as Microsoft, Linux and MAC
  • Ability to obtain a US government security clearance

Preferred technical and professional experience
  • History of published research, blog posts, or a history of presenting at local or regional security conferences.
  • Proficient Programing Skills
  • Experience with AI functions and operations
  • Experience in some aspect of incident response planning
  • Knowledge of forensic analysis, memory analysis, and/or malware analysis
  • Knowledge of Cloud based infrastructure and how it relates to incident response
  • Knowledge of MITRE frameworks
  • Knowledge of File Systems such as NTFS, APFS, EXT4
