Job description

Job Title: Orbital Welder

Job Description

This role focuses on high-purity orbital pipe welding in clean room and semiconductor plant environments, including programming and operating AMI 207 orbital welding machines and performing precise pipefitting work on active construction sites with frequent travel.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate AMI 207 orbital welding machines to perform high-quality welds on piping systems.
  • Perform orbital welding on high-purity piping, ensuring all welds meet strict cleanliness and quality standards for clean room and semiconductor applications.
  • Read and interpret drawings and specifications to execute accurate pipefitting and installation of high-purity piping systems.
  • Work effectively in clean room settings, following all cleanliness and contamination control procedures while welding and fitting pipe.
  • Support construction and installation activities on active job sites, coordinating welding and pipefitting tasks with other trades as needed.
  • Travel to various project locations as required and adapt to different site conditions while maintaining consistent welding quality.
  • Inspect completed welds and piping assemblies to verify compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.
  • Use and maintain welding equipment and tools safely and efficiently, reporting any issues or maintenance needs promptly.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience with orbital welding, specifically programming and operating AMI 207 orbital welding machines.
  • Strong experience in high-purity welding, with the ability to produce clean, consistent welds suitable for clean room and semiconductor environments.
  • Hands-on pipe welding experience with orbital welding techniques and high-purity welds.
  • Ability to work in clean room settings and semiconductor plants while adhering to strict cleanliness protocols.
  • Pipefitting skills, including experience as a clean room pipefitter and high-purity pipefitter.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to different project sites.
  • Capability to work safely and efficiently on active construction sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working on active construction projects involving high-purity piping systems.
  • Familiarity with clean room procedures and smock usage in controlled environments.
  • Comfort using company-provided equipment and integrating it with personal welding tools.

Pay and Benefits

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
