Starting Rate of Pay: $10.00
Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.
Department Description
The David R. Hayworth School of Arts and Design (SOAD) department of Art & Graphic Design at High Point University offers a dynamic immersion into the graphic design profession by mixing art and design as important knowledge domains that influence each other.
Job Description
This position will focus on monitoring the graphic design lab, maintaining inventory of supplies in the graphic design labs (Norton 201, Norton 102, and Wilson 221) and helping assist students with printing and technical issues. The student will assist graphic design faculty with different tasks to promote student growth, development, and exposure.
Job Location/ Hours Required
  • 10 hours per week: three weekday evenings from 5:00-7:00 pm, two weekday daytime hours, and two weekend hours. Daytime and weekend hours will be determined with the selected candidate and approved by the Coordinator of Graphic Design.

Responsibilities:
Student will lead the design lab in established rules and best practices
Student will help other Graphic Design students print, and troubleshoot software issues
Student will assist faculty with...
  • __ equipment and technical issues with lab printers including the large format printer
    in the tech lab, the Risograph, the Sharp printers in each of the computer labs, and
    Adobe CC
  • __ general troubleshooting
  • __ paper stocking and inventory
  • __ printing on the large-scale printer and Risograph
  • __ becoming proficient in using production equipment including Cricut cutter, sticker printer, or other related equipment
  • __ tracking supplies and paper
  • __ keeping lab clean and orderly
