Job description

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to support our luxury retail furniture warehouse operations. This role is essential to ensuring that inventory is received, stored, and distributed efficiently, accurately, and with care. The ideal candidate thrives in a team environment, demonstrates strong work ethic, and is committed to maintaining high standards of safety, organization, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping, Receiving & Fulfillment

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against documentation
  • Prepare merchandise for delivery or showroom placement
  • Pick, pack, and stage orders accurately and efficiently

Inventory & Product Management

  • Understand product specifications including size, material, and SKU
  • Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory audits
  • Log inventory movements using barcode scanners or RF devices
  • Report and help resolve inventory discrepancies

Furniture Handling & Movement

  • Safely load and unload trucks
  • Assist with showroom and vendor transfers
  • Prepare items for customer deliveries, including in-home service visits
  • Follow proper procedures for assembling/disassembling furniture

Product Care

  • Handle all materials (wood, glass, metal, upholstery, stone) with care
  • Clean, wrap, and protect items to prevent damage during storage or transport

Customer Service

  • Assist customers and sales staff with product information and pickups
  • Provide professional support during in-store setups and housecalls
  • Respond to and escalate customer concerns appropriately

Warehouse Maintenance & Safety

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Operate equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, dollies) safely and per training
  • Adhere to all company safety procedures and OSHA standards

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with team members across departments
  • Support onboarding and training of new associates
  • Participate in process improvements and team meeting

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior warehouse or retail experience preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physical warehouse tasks
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory systems
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and most holidays
  • Valid Texas driver’s license required
  • Ability to drive a 26-foot box truck is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
  • Capable of working in various environmental conditions
  • Clear verbal communication skills for team interaction and safety compliance
