We are looking for highly motivated candidates for entry level technical positions in North America through our Regional Graduate Program (RGP). This program utilizes an initial rotational training program for up to 18 months. The job rotations expose RGP members to all aspects of our service business. The end result is a position in the area that is the best fit for both Voith and the individual.
Candidates should have a 4 year degree or be completing one soon. Engineering, Supply Chain, or Science degrees are typical, but not required. Exposure to the paper industry or other industrial settings would be beneficial but is not required. Communication and team skills are critical, as these positions require frequent customer interaction and working together with other Voith Paper units and personnel.
Description / Responsibilities
• During the 18-month Regional Graduate Program, there will be rotations within Service departments at Voith Paper Appleton office including Process Service, Mechanical Service, and Automation / Controls Service.
• Your main goal will be to get acquainted with the different departments that help our Service Team with continuous improvement initiatives and customer support. During and after the 18-month rotation, you should be able to understand, predict, and enhance plant operations and business practices using analytical and quantitative methods. Support scheduling, planning, and service operations by assembling data, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations.
• These positions will work directly with our service specialists to learn the basics in all aspects of our business.
This includes:
o Manufacturing processes and process optimization
o The paper-making process and how our products fit
o Troubleshooting our products in operation on paper machines
o Focus on improving manufacturing and business processes
o Complete customer service orders and commission new equipment
o Evaluate current field service contracts / programs
o Review planning and scheduling of field service technicians
• You will be assigned a mentor who will act as a partner, support your career development as a professional within Voith.
• As Voith Paper and the paper industry are global, some level of communication with counterparts in Europe and Asia may be required.
• Communication and team skills are critical, both for customer interaction and for effective internal cooperation. We have manufacturing plants, customers and Sales/Service/Application people located across North America. Building good communications channels beyond your mentors is important.
Qualifications
• A 4-year bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical trades, automation or related discipline ideally focused on production, is desirable, but not mandatory. Business or other backgrounds will be considered.
• Must be mobile during the 18-month training period, open to travel to areas where we have a manufacturing plant or where there is a large customer base. The final geographic area depends on the best fit, but the likely areas can be discussed during the interview process.
• Service work consists of considerable time on and around machinery including paper machines. You must be comfortable in an industrial environment. Some lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching and balancing is necessary.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
• Strong computer skills in MS Office and a basic knowledge of SAP is a plus.
• Frequent customer and internal interactions require good communication and team skills, as well as computer and technical abilities.
• You must have good written and verbal communication skills.
• You must be ambitious with entrepreneurial drive and thinking. The paper industry is large, varied and dynamic.
We are looking for individuals with enthusiasm, an openness to new and challenging tasks and experiences, selfmotivation, curiosity, team-work and inter-cultural awareness.
Qualified, motivated and loyal employees are the engine for our innovative capability and competitiveness. The willingness to think ahead and an enthusiasm for technology is what all Voithians have in common. For our Group Division Voith Paper we search for employees that are respectful team players and are as diverse as our markets.
If this is you, we are looking forward to receiving your online application.
