Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician I, you will assist with machine setup, perform routine maintenance tasks, and ensure equipment upkeep to support smooth facility operations. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and some maintenance experience, offering hands-on training and opportunities for skill development. Responsibilities include using hand tools for basic repairs, servicing wash tanks, adjusting chlorine levels, changing air filters, and maintaining a clean, organized work environment. You will work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to learning and growth within the department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Use basic hand tools to complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Assist with routine machine setup, including installing buffers, cycling receivers, lubricating chains, and securing covers.
  • Monitor and adjust chlorine levels to ensure proper water treatment.
  • Remove, clean, and reinstall wash tank heat exchangers, servicing wash tanks with acid and bleach as needed.
  • Change air filters in air handlers and compressors to maintain optimal air quality and system performance.
  • Perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness in maintenance shops and assist in managing parts inventory.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance (PM) tasks within the assigned scope.
  • Work independently or collaboratively to support daily operations.
  • Maintain a professional, team-oriented, and customer-focused work attitude.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues independently.
  • Strong understanding of basic mechanical systems and functions.
  • Good communication and customer service skills to interact with residents and team members.

Education/Experience:

  • Vocational training or coursework in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders or stairs for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs independently and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
  • Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, humidity, dust, and noise levels.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle tools, operate machinery, and perform precise tasks.
  • Ability to visually inspect equipment, read manuals, and distinguish colors (for wiring and safety indicators).
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and respiratory protection when necessary.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when required.
  • Ability to maintain focus and safely operate within an industrial setting while following company safety protocols.
  • May be required to work with hazardous materials or perform tasks in confined spaces.
