Job description

Position Summary 
Xantrion is seeking customer-focused IT Field Technician to provide dedicated onsite support. This role is ideal for entry-level technicians who thrive in a highly visible, hands-on support environment and enjoy building strong relationships. 
This is a full-time onsite position requiring attendance Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Engineers will operate within a regional hub-and-spoke support model, supporting designated client locations while maintaining responsibility for equipment inventory, asset tracking, and onsite operational readiness from their assigned hub location. 
Successful candidates will deliver professional technical support, manage service requests through a ticketing system, coordinate hardware logistics, and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction across supported locations. 
Key Responsibilities 
Onsite Technical Support 

  • Provide onsite support for desktop, laptop, printer, conferencing, and peripheral-related issues. 
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity problems in a timely manner. 
  • Support end users in person with professionalism, urgency, and strong customer service skills. 
  • Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership through resolution. 
  • Coordinate with internal teams and third-party vendors as necessary. 

Ticket & Service Management 

  • Manage and document all work through the designated ticketing system. 
  • Maintain accurate ticket notes, status updates, and resolution details. 
  • Prioritize service requests based on business impact and urgency. 
  • Ensure timely follow-up and communication with end users and stakeholders. 

Inventory & Asset Management 

  • Maintain accountability for onsite inventory and equipment at assigned hub locations. 
  • Track hardware movement, deployments, replacements, and returns. 
  • Perform regular inventory audits and ensure asset records remain accurate. 
  • Coordinate equipment staging, imaging, shipping, and receiving activities as required. 

Deployment & Operational Support 

  • Assist with workstation setups, office moves, equipment replacements, and user onboarding activities. 
  • Support planned technology rollouts and onsite project initiatives. 

Documentation & Compliance 

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and service records. 
  • Follow established operational procedures and security standards. 
  • Ensure all supported systems and processes comply with client security and confidentiality requirements. 

Qualifications 
Experience & Technical Skills 

  • Technical understanding of Windows environments, Microsoft 365 applications, and common enterprise hardware. 
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and service management workflows. 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, networking, and peripheral devices. 
  • Experience supporting printers, docking stations, monitors, conference room technology, and mobile devices. 
  • Ability to manage assets and inventory. 

Professional Skills 

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements 
  • Full-time onsite role requiring travel between designated client locations within assigned region.
  • Ability to lift and transport IT equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working at computer workstations.
  • Must possess reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Reporting Structure 

  • The employee will be hired and employed by Xantrion.
  • The employee will work exclusively at/on behalf of the client.
  • The client will provide day-to-day supervision, task assignment, training, scheduling, and performance expectations. 
  • Xantrion will manage employment-related matters including payroll and benefits. 

Schedule 

  • Monday through Friday 
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend support required for project activities. 
  • The ability to work on Federal Holidays is also required.

Benefits 

  • Salary range $45,000 - $55,000/year, depending on experience
