Job description

Position Objective Position Objective: Assist the Robbinsdale Police Department in the protection of life and property by assisting regular members of the Police Department in the enforcement of laws and ordinances of the City of Robbinsdale and State of Minnesota. Position is a voluntary, non-compensated position that assists with special events, during emergency situations and with limited patrol opportunities. Police Reserve is an excellent entry-level position for those desiring a career in law enforcement.

Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with crowd control during parades and community events. Assist in directing traffic near accident scenes. Assist with crowd control at crime scenes.

Assist Officers in patrolling parks and public buildings. Perform all other related duties and responsibilities as may be required. Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older.

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must satisfactorily pass a comprehensive background investigation. No criminal convictions.

Valid Minnesota driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Supplemental Information Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Ability to communicate with general public on phone and in person. Ability to get along and work with members of the Police Department.

Ability to execute written and oral instructions given in English. Ability to respond to emergency situations under direction and supervision.
