Classification Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Florida driver's license and willingness to drive office vehicles, including a golf cart.
Successful pre-employment screening including a background check.
All applicants must be available after 12:00 PM on Tuesdays and have full-day availability on Wednesdays and Fridays.
Student applicants must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average and remain eligible for on-campus employment.
Job Description:
The UF Health Cancer Institute is the 72nd NCI designated cancer center and the only one at a public university in the State of Florida. As a matrix cancer center, we span all of the University of Florida's 16 colleges, pulling together a world-class, multi-disciplinary membership of over 350 faculty and 150 staff to address the challenges of the cancer burden faced by the population we serve as we work together to find a cure.
As an Events Assistant at the UF Health Cancer Institute (UFHCI), you will be responsible for supporting our seminar series and conducting our external visitors and guest speakers between meetings throughout the Health Science Center and UF Campus.
Ideal applicants will be highly responsible, professional in appearance and demeanor, and possess excellent communication skills as well as an inherent skill set and desire to provide exceptional customer service. This position requires a valid Florida driver's license and transporting guests using office vehicles, including golf carts.
In your new role you will be responsible for the following:
  • Transporting external visitors and guest speakers between meetings throughout the Health Science Center and UF Campus.
  • Providing coverage for reception in our main office.
  • Supporting the Cancer Institute seminar series and events.

This position is part-time and will be scheduled for up to 30 hours per week with some flexibility for ongoing projects, special events, and other related business needs. Applicants should have consistent availability from 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Wednesdays and Fridays, as well as availability after 12:00 PM on Tuesdays, with flexibility to work on other weekdays as needed based on events and project demands; work hours and arrival times may vary accordingly.
This is an entry-level position, ideal for candidates with strong interpersonal skills, customer service experience, a professional demeanor, and an interest in hospitality or event coordination within an academic or healthcare setting. Expected Salary:
$15.00 hourly
