Job description

Job Summary:

At Velocity, you won't just execute a task list — you'll be mentored directly and given real ownership from day one. We're building an innovative, fast-moving marketing team, and we want someone who takes pride in their work, asks good questions, and grows with us.

The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day management of Velocity's community-facing social platforms and supports the execution of marketing operations across email, project tracking, and content databases. This is an entry-level, hands-on role ideal for someone who wants to build a career in marketing while learning the healthcare/clinical research industry. The Coordinator works within the Marketing Department and helps keep campaigns, content, and community engagement moving on schedule.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Community Platform Management
    • Monitor and manage content scheduling of 65+ Facebook site pages, responding to comments and messages and escalating issues as needed to protect and strengthen brand reputation.
    • Maintain consistent posting cadence and community presence across site-level social pages.
    • Monitor online reviews and ratings across Google, Facebook, and Yelp; flag concerning feedback for follow-up to leadership following SOPs for appropriate response.
  • Content Support
    • Contribute to content development for owned-channels including LinkedIn posts and other social content in support of the broader content calendar.
    • Assist with light content and design creation, including formatting graphics from templates and repurposing existing content across platforms.
    • Support production of business development and patient-facing materials (education handouts, blog posts) under direction from the Marketing department leaders.
  • Marketing Operations
    • Build and schedule marketing emails in HubSpot from provided copy and templates.
    • Queue and schedule social media posts across platforms.
    • Open, update, and close projects in Asana; help keep deliverables moving by tracking status and following up on outstanding items.
    • Maintain and organize the content/asset database, including tagging and filing materials for ease of retrieval and reuse.
    • Assist with basic data entry and organization within CRM/marketing database tools (HubSpot).
  • Quality Assurance & Administration
    • Proofread marketing materials and campaign assets for accuracy, tone, and brand consistency before publication.
    • Maintain templates, project files, and marketing resource libraries.
    • Support the Marketing Specialist and marketing partners with administrative tasks that improve team efficiency.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Highly organized, with the ability to juggle multiple platforms and deadlines without dropping the ball
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, always-on environment: understands that a scheduled post or campaign has a deadline, not just a to-do
  • Genuinely curious about the why behind marketing decisions, not just focused on checking off tasks
  • A strong listener who takes direction well and applies feedback quickly
  • Takes pride in the details: proofreading, formatting, and community responses reflect their own personal standard
  • Follows through: closes the loop on projects instead of letting things go stale
  • Excited to grow: eager to be mentored, ask questions, and build a career in marketing

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0–2 years of marketing, communications, or social media experience (internship experience welcomed).
  • Comfortable managing multiple social media accounts/pages simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, Asana, or similar marketing/project management tools preferred, but willingness to learn is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written communication skills; comfortable representing the brand voice in public-facing responses.
  • Proactive, dependable, and eager to learn the business.
  • Ability to accept and apply feedback.
