Role Overview

Electrician I is an entry-level electrical professional responsible for supporting the installation, assembly, testing, and repair of electrical systems and components used in ASC's power integration products. This role is designed for individuals who possess foundational electrical knowledge and are looking to develop their technical skills within a manufacturing environment.

Working under the guidance of experienced electricians and supervisors, the Electrician I assists with electrical assembly, wiring, equipment installation, and basic troubleshooting activities while learning ASC's standards, quality expectations, and safety requirements. Success in this role will be measured through quality of work, productivity, safety performance, skill development, and contribution to team objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic electrical installation, assembly, and repair work in support of manufacturing and production operations.
  • Install conduit, wire, electrical components, devices, and supporting hardware according to engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Read and follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and production documentation.
  • Assist with control panel wiring, equipment wiring, and point-to-point electrical connections.
  • Support the installation and assembly of generators, power distribution equipment, and electrical systems used in ASC products.
  • Assist experienced electricians with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair activities.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment safely and effectively.
  • Support electrical testing and inspection activities to verify proper operation, quality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Identify and report quality concerns, material shortages, safety hazards, and production issues to supervision.
  • Maintain accurate production records, documentation, and required job-related paperwork.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with company standards.
  • Support occasional field installations, service activities, or job site visits when required.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including OSHA, Hazard Communication (Haz-Com), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space requirements, and PPE standards.
  • Participate in training and development activities to expand technical knowledge and electrical skills.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational electrical training, apprenticeship experience, or equivalent technical education preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of electrical experience in manufacturing, industrial, commercial, construction, or related environments preferred.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems, wiring methods, electrical components, and installation practices.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and work instructions.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic electrical testing equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical safety practices and safe work procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and develop new technical skills.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to regularly work in both manufacturing and assembly environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout an 8+ hour work shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, access elevated work areas, and work in confined spaces when required.
  • Ability to safely work around low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems while following established safety procedures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety requirements.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and material handling equipment as required.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules when necessary to meet production demands.
