What You Will Do:  

 As an entry level Electrical (FPGA) Engineer 1 at Collins Aerospace, you will…

  • You will support requirements capture and FPGA digital architecture. 
  • You will implement FPGA digital design using RTL. 
  • You will support verification and system integration of FPGA implementations.

What You Will Learn:

  • You will work with an experienced team to learn best practices and Collins’ engineering processes for implementing world class FPGA solutions. 
  • You will get to work with cutting edge technologies developed both in house and by external vendors. 
  • You will learn how ASICs and FPGAs are used to implement solutions utilized in communications, security, and space-based products. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date. 
  • Experience or familiarity with RTL coding and simulation in VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, team with engineers of a variety of skills and backgrounds, and matrix into projects with aggressive schedules and frequent milestones.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience using FPGA design tools (e.g. Modelsim, Quartus, Vivado).
  • Programming experience with C, MATLAB, and scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with revision control concepts and tools (e.g. Git, Subversion).
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Technical experience through prior internships.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Strong interest in the firmware design process.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
