Job description

More than 130 years ago, we started with core values that never go out of style: listen, learn and help businesses and individuals reach their goals. Our financial strength and stability are key reasons Forbes names us one of the Best 100 Banks in America the past eight consecutive years and Newsweek names Banner one of the Most Trustworthy Companies the past four years.
With more than $15 billion in assets and over 150 locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and California, we understand our role in the economy and take that responsibility seriously. In addition to offering a source of capital to personal banking clients and businesses of all sizes, we place a high importance on employee volunteerism and donate millions of dollars each year to community organizations.
As a Client Relationship Consultant, you'll be the welcoming face of our branch and a trusted partner for our clients. Your work helps people confidently navigate their financial lives while supporting strong, lasting relationships with our bank. Every interaction is an opportunity to create a positive experience and make a meaningful impact.
In this role you'll
  • Engage clients with exceptional service while supporting a wide range of sales and service activities.
  • Process routine financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency, including deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments.
  • Balance your cash drawer with precise currency and coin handling.
  • Consult with clients to understand their needs and introduce products, services, and digital banking tools that support their goals.
  • Identify opportunities to expand relationships and make referrals to partners across Commercial Lending, Treasury Management, Mortgage Lending, and Investment Services.
  • Proactively communicate with clients to educate, resolve concerns, strengthen loyalty, and gather feedback.
  • Hold appointments to identify client needs, provide solutions, and support their financial success.
  • Open new accounts, maintain existing accounts, and resolve account issues while ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Support branch lending processes by answering questions, completing applications, and preparing accurate documentation.

What we're looking for
  • You have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. (Required).
  • You bring entry-level experience in teller, banking, or sales roles with established goals (Required).
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.

What helps you shine
  • You enjoy helping clients and excel at building relationships through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You're confident discussing banking products and services and can recognize opportunities to recommend solutions.
  • You're skilled at multitasking and can adapt quickly to evolving client and branch needs.
  • You have a basic understanding of retail banking products, policies, and systems.
  • You can review financial information, including credit data, to identify client needs and suggest options.
  • You are comfortable with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and other business tools.
  • You demonstrate professionalism in person, over the phone, and via email.
  • You can lift up to 25 pounds as part of the role.

Our Company Values
  • Do the right thing
  • Mutual respect
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Accountability

What Our Team Says
  • "I have the opportunity to learn and grow every day in my current role. I love the work life balance, knowing that we work hard, and strive for high performance but we are celebrated." - Glassdoor review

Compensation & Benefits
  • Targeted starting salary range (based on experience): $19.00 - $24.50
  • Annual incentive potential
  • Comprehensive employee benefits, including: medical, dental, vision, LTD, STD and life
  • Paid vacation time, sick time and 11 company paid holidays
