Woodside West School, a trusted early childhood program serving families since 1974, is seeking passionate, caring, and enthusiastic teachers to join our team. We are looking for educators who love working with children and want to help create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 25, with possible opportunities to work with school-age children (ages 612) as well.
Whether you are an experienced early childhood educator or new to the field, we welcome you. New teachers are thoughtfully partnered with experienced mentors to support growth, confidence, and success in the classroom. About the Role
As a teacher at Woodside West School, you will:
Create a warm, safe, and engaging classroom environment
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum
Support childrens social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
Partner with fellow teachers to enhance the learning environment
Assist with daily care routines such as rest/nap time and bathroom support
Communicate openly with families and build strong, positive relationships
Work collaboratively as part of a supportive, team-oriented staff
We also have year-round, seasonal/summer, and substitute opportunities available for both Preschool and School-Age programs.
Qualifications
Minimum 6 Early Childhood Education (ECE) units for entry-level positions
ECE Degree up to a B.A. in Early Childhood Education welcome
Fingerprint/background clearance through Community Care Licensing (DSS)
CPR/First Aid Certification (grace period accepted)
Immunizations for Pertussis and Measles
A genuine love for children and a willingness to learn and grow
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
Building strong, respectful relationships with children and families
Designing and facilitating engaging, age-appropriate activities
Collaborating with teaching teams to maintain an inviting, inclusive classroom
Observing and reporting any developmental or behavioral concerns as needed
Managing daily classroom routines including lessons, free play, meals, bathroom breaks, and rest time
Sharing responsibilities in a flexible, team-based teaching environment
