POSITION VACANCY
POSITION: Substitute Child Care Teachers (Assistant & Lead)
LOCATION: Littlest Learners Child Care Center
DATE OF POSTING: May 20, 2026
START DATE: As Soon As Possible
HOURS: Hours could vary between 5:30am-6:00pm
QUALIFICATIONS: A Substitute Assistant Teacher must be at least 18 years of age, have a high
school diploma or equivalent, and be willing to take a one non-credit,
department-approved course in early childhood education within six months
of hire, or have two credits in early childhood education from an accredited
college. Must pass DCF fingerprint-based background check, get certified in
CPR and First Aid, complete Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training and
Mandated Reporter Training. This position will assistant teacher in the child
care center. Work with the lead teacher to create a positive environment for
children. See job description for full list of job duties. Pay rate is $14/hour.
A Substitute Lead Teacher will have a CDA, ECE degree or DCF approved entry-level courses and previous group child care experience. Must pass DCF fingerprint-based background check, get certified in CPR and First Aid, complete Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training and Mandated Reporter Training. This position will be a lead teacher in the child care center. Create a safe and welcoming environment for children. Provide classroom management according to the center's policies and goals.
