Job description

The Harry & Rose Samson Family JCC invites passionate and caring educators of all backgrounds to join our family of staff as a part-time (0-19 hours per week) Infant Teacher at our Gan Ami Early Childhood Education campus in Mequon. This position works with ages 6 weeks- 12 months. The hours are Monday through Friday, 3pm-6pm.

Position Summary

As a member of our faculty, you will be responsible for the creation of a positive, warm, individualized, nurturing environment for children, which encourages inquiry and open-ended thought. Teachers in our program ensure that children are consistently treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. Teachers also promote, administer, and improve the JCC’s mission statement and goals in functions including program development, compliance with licensing standards, as well as supervision and implementation of the program in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the JCC.

A good candidate will have:

  • Genuine love and respect for children and families
  • Willingness to be flexible and be a part of a learning community
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certifications (free training available onsite for hired staff)

An ideal candidate will have all of the above, plus:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an Early Childhood Education (ECE) 
  • Experience with infants in a group setting  
  • 7+ on the Wisconsin Registry for Early Childhood
  • Strong interpersonal skills within a classroom or school environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of different approaches in ECE and child development
