The History Department of the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks applicants for a tenure-track assistant professor in any field of early modern or modern Chinese history beginning September 1, 2027. Applicants should have an active research agenda, evidence of excellence in teaching, and a Ph.D. in History or a closely related field in hand by August 31, 2027.

The History Department has thematic strengths in public history; cultural and social history; science, medicine, and health; imperialism, colonialism, and indigeneity; and labor and food history.
